[Maya knows that all day, Hanna's been doing his best to get out of his centaur form— and that's the whole reason he hasn't been at work. What she's less sure of is whether he'll be anywhere near his laptop when Maya gets home, so she doesn't bother sending him a message or even going into the house after she gets back in the Aloha Oe.
Rather, she heads straight for the beach, where she assumes Hanna will be. The sand on the beach itself is still black with the fading night, but the sky has begun to tint with the color of the morning— a good thing, really, as they won't have to rely as much on each other's bio luminescence. Those freckles and spots on his body do at least help her identify him in the distance, and she calls out as she steps across the wet sand as not to frighten him;]
[The past few days have been rough, but he'd take adjusting to centaur body over coping with super strong emotions any day. Of course, he only has the pooka moodiness to blame for his cagey behavior since their talk and absolutely nothing else. It's super chill! They're chill, he's chill, it's all chill, baby. Totally fine!
He's so fine that he actually seems like normal Hanna again, flashing her a bright smile as he waves from the little camp he's set up on the beach for night. The fire is burning out as the sun considers rising over the horizon, and she's caught him just as he's begun to pack up to head back in.]
[There he goes— with that bright smile that matches hers. What Merlin and Lup have said rings in her heart, but she can't help but bring attention to something else first;]
Aw, you're still all ponied up, huh?
[Tail like a whip behind her, she approaches fast, immediately starting to help him pack up.]
H-heh, yeah. Figured I'd just get used to it, yanno? Like, I know how to walk on two legs, and I know how to horse, so I thought "Suck it up, buttercup! Get those sea legs back, go for a swim!" So, here I am!
[He laughs, kneeling that big ol' horse body down to rummage around in his cooler.]
You thirsty? I got water and [jazz hands] ~hard lemonade~.
Yeah, I think so! Swimming really helped, actually. Got used to moving everything independently without having to worry about gravity, yanno? It's just hard to remember which leg does what, sometimes. But I'm getting there!
[He twists open her lemonade before handing it over and scooching over a bit to make space for her on his blanket.]
[He blinks, furrowing his brow a bit. What a silly thing to apologize for.]
Can't blame you for not thinking of eeeeverything. It's not like you planned to have horses as regulars, yanno. Besides, we'd end up with a whole lot more than a few broken glasses if we did.
But hey, here's to a shift with no broke shit~! [Snickering, he clinks his bottle against hers.]
[Her bottle meets his, and she tips a fair amount back, taking a breath with a satisfied sigh. Even if her demon nature didn't make it easier to drink, can she really help but find lemonade refreshing? But once she's done, she asks—]
So I'm guessing that means you're still having trouble changing back, huh?
[When he envisions himself, it's a little cartoony. Like he's drawing himself in his brain. Her description of him makes him want to laugh, but he's trying to stay on task and take this seriously!
Her hands really are so warm, and the ambiance of her voice with the sound of the ocean is all quite calming... He could get used to this.]
[She can see his lips twitch— that's not a problem. She's not trying to keep it too serious, anyway. People have often talked about how hard it is to meditate, and this is sort of a crash course, so she isn't expecting much.
Just his concentration and focus. That should be enough, right?
She continues leading him down his own body, talking him through his arms, his stomach, his waist, his hips—]
Down to your two, average, every-day kelpie legs. One foot down to the hoof on the left, one on the right.
Imagine yourself... as exactly what you want to be right now. Standing on your own two.. horsey feet.

Hanna! Is that you over there?

[She notes, though, seeing he's knelt down—]
You really are getting the hang of it, though, huh?

[He twists open her lemonade before handing it over and scooching over a bit to make space for her on his blanket.]
How was work? Did I miss anything fun?
no subject
[Always something to note. She takse a place beside him, taking that lemonade with one hand and patting his horse back with the other.]
Sorry it's so hard for you to get around the bar like this.

Wh-wha-- huh? N-no, it's. I'm-- I'll get there!
no subject
[She stands up again and turns to face Hanna, holding out his hands for his.]
OK! That's it! What you need is some help from the peninsula's top psychic assistant!
no subject
You gonna hypnotize me or something? [Eyebrow.]
1/2
no subject
[Maya hops in place.]
Do you want me to do that?
no subject
[And why does it worry him just a little? He knows she's a demon and demons love mischief... was she thinking of doing something terrible to him?]
no subject
[She seems just as eager about offering this as she was about hypnosis, though.]
I bet if we just clear your mind, you can find your inner being!
no subject
Oh-- well, I mean. I'll try anything once. Eheh. So, uh. Whichever is easier for you!
no subject
So let's try meditation, shall we?
[She gives his hands a squeeze.]
Close your eyes and take a nice, deep breath.
no subject
[He's holding her hands though... it's gonna be so hard to focus... But he's still gonna give it a try.
He exhales and shakes out the nerves, then shuts his eyes and takes the deep breath as instructed.]
no subject
I want you to breathe in when the sea comes in... and out when it gooooes out.
[She breathes, too, just loud enough to guide him, and does it for quite a few paces.]
Now... I want you to picture yourself in your head. Right here, where you stand.
Think about the tippy tops of your horsey ears... The bright red kelp on your head... All those little freckles on your nose, right down to your lips.
[Outside of his view, she's busy admiring everything she lists off, hoping to help give him a guided trip down awareness of his own body.]
To your chin... to your shoulders....

[He snorts and squeezes her hands, opening one eye to gauge her reaction.
no subject
[she scolds, though it certainly doesn't sound so scolding past her smile.]
And don't turn yourself into more horses!
no subject
[He laughs, squeezing his eyes shut again.]
Okay, okay, okay-- start over. I'm sorry. I won't mess up this time.
